The CBS 42 Morning News with Art Franklin adds new co-anchor – Google Alerts

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – WIAT CBS 42 announced Monday Alissa Rothermich will join Art Franklin on the award-winning “CBS 42 Morning News with Art Franklin.” Rothermich is an Emmy-nominated anchor and reporter who will debut on Sept. 5.

brings a wealth of experience to CBS 42 and has already embraced Central

a team, to tell stories that matter and bring a little fun into
the homes of our viewers,” said Art Franklin.

said Rothermich.

joining CBS 42, Rothermich worked as an evening anchor at KMOV in St. Louis. She
played an instrumental role in the community during the aftermath of Michael
Brown’s death in Ferguson, Missouri, while hosting town hall discussions to
advance conversation among community leaders and citizens.

TV news career has included work in Lafayette, Louisiana and Fort Myers,
Florida. She is an alumna of Southern Methodist University in Dallas. 

and her husband, Dr. Marc Rothermich, lived in Birmingham during his fellowship
training at Andrews Sports Medicine and realized very quickly that Central
Alabama was where they wanted to plant roots and raise their family. In their
