Shanty Creek Chefs Make ‘Art in Ice’ – Google Alerts

Visitors got to see 3,000 pounds of ice transformed into incredible sculptures made by local chefs.

The “Art in Ice, Sweet and Nice” festival is planned as a way to raise money for aspiring culinary students.

The proceeds fund scholarships to put them through school.

Saturday’s fun event was part of a two-night fundraiser that also included a dessert crawl across downtown Bellaire.

Organizers say it’s a great way for local businesses to come together for a cause.

“It’s a great opportunity for the local businesses to participate, be a part of putting into a scholarship for the American Culinary Association so we can give back to young culinary students,” said Shanty Creek’s Executive Chef, Dennis Wagner.

The event was such a success organizers say they’re already planning for next year.
