Montserrat College of Art is accepting entries for the 26th annual Congressional Art Show and Competition for Massachusetts’ 6th Congressional District. The show will be on display from March 12-21 in the Montserrat Gallery, 23 Essex St., Beverly. A closing reception and award ceremony, free and open to all, will be held 3:30 to 5 p.m. March 21 with U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton.

The art competition is open to students, grades 10-12, from public and private schools as well as home-schooled students from the district. Last year’s exhibit included 115 pieces from 23 institutions across the district.

Each winner will be presented with a citation from Moulton and varying levels of scholarships to Montserrat’s Summer Pre-College Program. The grand prize-winning piece will be sent to Washington, D.C., where it will hang in the Capitol building for one year with winning works from other congressional districts across the country. A ceremony to congratulate all the winners will be held in Washington, D.C., in June.

Work must be dropped off 2 to 6 p.m. March 6 or noon to 4 p.m. March 7-8 in the Montserrat Gallery to be included in the exhibition.
