Giving Tuesday refers to the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It is a movement to create an international day of charitable giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season.

Some recent successes: Craven Arts Council and Gallery has worked to expand our scope and reach in the community in the past year. We recently completed a mural at the Boys and Girls Teen Center, where our staff designed and instructed the students on painting the image. The Craven County School System has partnered with us to support art teachers with the annual Valentine’s Day Card sale, and our staff worked with local teachers and students for the National Art Honor Society’s Summer Art Camp at New Bern High School. Our organization is working to form new partnerships to bring arts to all communities, including the New Bern Police Department’s Project Safe Neighborhood, the City of New Bern, Craven Community College and other local public and private organizations. During this time we have also continued our efforts to organize and promote the local ArtWalk, to beautify the city through our Broad Street Banners Project and Public Sculpture Park, and to showcase the arts through more than twenty exhibitions a year.
