The Chisholm Trail Arts Council (CTAC) gallery was full of artists, members and those who just wanted to see what it was all about on Friday evening where they were treated to one of the largest showings CTAC has hosted.
Darcy Reeves, executive director, said the artist call for this year’s Kickoff Art Show and Sale was more than expected as 51 artists responded.
“It’s going really well tonight,” she said. “We have a great crowd.”
Attendees perused around 170 works of art from drawings, pottery, bronze work and more.
“We are beyond excited to see how far our reach has gone… we have many new artists, as well as returning artists, that represent over 15 different cities in Oklahoma,” Reeves said. “Our goal for the show specifically is to open the entries to all different levels of experience. One of the most rewarding things that some of the artists have told us is that we have inspired them to do more art and given them hope that all of their efforts will be recognized by others.”
Along with the Art Show was the membership drive where interested parties could sign up to renew a membership.
“Membership support is the backbone for the Chisholm Trail Arts Council,” Reeves said.
Member support enables CTAC to provide their popular art programs to the community – Arts Explosion, CTAC Live Concert Series, Art Education in Schools, and the CTAC Art Gallery.
The works will be in the gallery until Sept. 20 with many for sale.
