Mooresville artists Sandy Eaton, Barbara O’Reilly and Sandy Thibeault are being featured at Mooresville Arts Gallery during September. A reception for the artists will be held Sept. 13 from 6-8 p.m. at the gallery, 103 West Center Ave., Mooresville. Admission is free, and the public is invited.
Eaton works with clay, and her works have been featured at several galleries in the area. Sandy’s work is both sculptural and practical. She recently had one of her vases on display in Hockenheim, Germany during the city’s 1250th anniversary celebration.
O’Reilly has been honing her skills as a mixed media painter for the last five years. Originally from Milwaukee, Wis., she retired from her art education career at Mt Mourne I.B., Iredell Statesville Schools and has now devoted her time to being the student, attending the respected Penland School of Crafts and Cullowhee Arts programs. These experiences have helped her focus on experimenting with textures and materials while developing her personal style.
Thibeault paints with egg tempra. She has exhibited in a number of national and international juried exhibitions and has been the recipient of many grants and awards including the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club Gold Medal of Honor in NYC, WCVB-TV First Place New England Illustration Competition, 44th Rocky Mountain Watermedia Exhibit/CO, 30th Tallahassee International/FSU Museum of Fine Arts, National Juried Show/Academy of Fine Arts, Va., and Cape Cod Open Juried National, Mass. Thibeault was elected as a Juried Member of the Associated Artists of Winston-Salem. Her art pieces are in private collections in the United States and China.
A display of abstract paintings by a variety of artists is also a part of the exhibit.
